Richard Dunnahay, 76, of Independence, MO passed away August 7, 2016. A visitation will take place from 10-11:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. service on Wednesday, August 10, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, at Green Lawn Cemetery in Rich Hill, MO. Richard was born March 1, 1940 in Rich Hill, MO to Richard S. and Nellie May (Hymer) Dunnahay. He retired after 26 years as a mechanic for Ryder Truck Line. He was a member of Summit Assembly Church. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Sara (Martin) Dunnahay; daughter, Rita Dunnahay of Lone Jack, MO; son, Rick Dunnahay of Blue Springs, MO; stepson, Rex Nash of Bethany, MO; granddaughter, Danielle Dunnahay; grandson, Jesse Doutt; two great grandsons, Richard and Robert; and one sister, Violet Turman.
