C. "Gene" Eugene Duren

C. Eugene “Gene” Duren (81) passed peacefully on October 28, 2021 at Independence Manor in Independence, Missouri. Gene was born in Mullin, Texas on March 26, 1940. He graduated from Mullin High School and attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. Gene’s life career was in the field of animal husbandry. He was a Christian, devoted husband and loving father. He was kind, loyal and cheerful and never knew a stranger. He is survived by Latricia, his wife of 61 years; two daughters, Marcia Staus (son-in-law, Gerald Staus) of Sedalia, Missouri and Cheryl Duren of Independence, Missouri; two grandchildren, Christopher Staus and Kimberly Smith; two great grandchildren, Kameron and Kory; two brothers, Brady Wayne Duren (wife, Mary) of Hobe Sound, Florida and Bobby Zane Duren of Mullin, Texas; sister, Nelma Jane Loudamy of Mullin, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lola Belle Duren.

A memorial visitation with be at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, Missouri 64055 on November 2, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Gene will be laid to rest in his home State of Texas.
