David Christopher Dye

April 9, 1966 — December 31, 2020

David C. Dye, of Independence, MO passed away far too soon on December 31, 2020. He was 54. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 8th from 10-11am with a funeral service following at 11am, both at Calvary Baptist Church, 1915 N Liberty St, Independence, MO 64050. Interment will follow at Glen Ridge Cemetery in Liberty.

David was born April 9, 1966 in North Kansas City, MO to Don and Janice (Cowan) Dye. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1984 as a three-sport letterman. He went on to play as a quarterback for the semi-pro KC Bulldogs. Along with being a member of Calvary Baptist Church, David loved playing and coaching sports, fishing and his family. He will be missed by all that knew him.

David is survived by his sons, Travis Dye, of Lee’s Summit, and Nicholas Dye of Independence; his parents, Don and Janice, of Independence; his sister, Pam Oliphant, and her husband, Terry of Independence; as well as several nieces and nephews, and beloved beagle, Diamond.

He is preceded in death by Nicholas’ mother and his grandparents.
