William Dean Dyer, 95, Ellisville, MO, formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away Sept. 8, 2007 at his home. Services will be 11 am, Monday, Sept. 17, 2007 at Community Christian Church, 4601 Main, Kansas City, MO 64112. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. A graveside service will take place at 3:30 pm, Monday at Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. The family requests contributions to Wayside Waifs Animal Shelter, P.O. Dean was born May 15, 1912 in Crawford County, Kansas to S.M. Dyer & Margaret (Jones) Dyer. He attended Pittsburg State Teachers College. He married Mary Kelley on Oct. 28, 1939. Dean was a manufacturer’s rep for Josten’s Inc. in Kansas City for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the church for over 50 years and a Free Mason. He lived in Kansas City over 50 years before he and Mary moved to the St. Louis area in 2005.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and a brother. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Mary Dyer, of the home; niece Joan Duncan and husband John, Ellisville, MO; nephews Stan Thompson, Lake Oswego, OR; Jim Thompson, Alhambra, CA; niece Marilyn Ritchie, Wichita, KS; nephew Philip Kelley, Chiloquin, OR; niece Joan Ludlow, BelAir, MD; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
