Wanda M. Eckart

Wanda Mae Eckart, 66, of Independence, MO, passed away, Sunday, June 27, 2004 in Independence, MO. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The family will greet friends following the service Wednesday at the chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the Shady Grove Cemetery in Racket, MO. Wanda was born July 18, 1937 in Henry County, MO to Elmer and Melba (Hosterman) Summers. She had worked for the IRS in the sorting and distribution dept. for over 10 years before retiring on December 31, 2001. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Raytown. She is survived by a son, Rick Eckart and his wife Deborah of Pleasant Hill, MO; a sister, Twila Corley of Independence, MO; 2 brothers, Eldon Summers of Harrisonville, MO and Loy Summers of Stockton, MO; 2 grandchildren, Jessica Eckart and Ashley Holmes. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Eckart in 2002 and a daughter, Debbie Eckart in 2000. Donations may be made to the Sunshine Center.
