Roberta Eddy, 77, of Independence, MO passed away on September 11, 2007 in Overland Park, KS after a long illness. She was born December 17, 1929 in Lawrence, KS to Robert and Velna Larcom. Bobbie grew up in Warrensburg, MO, where she graduated from Warrensburg High School and attended two years at Central Missouri State and was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. In 1948, she married James Evens Eddy. They shared a dedicated relationship for 58 years. She was a loving mother to her three daughters. Bobbie was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church of Independence, MO. She served as President of the United Methodist Women and the Asbury Sunday School Class. She was also a past president and active member of KL Chapter of P.E.O. in Independence. She is survived by her husband, James Eddy of the home; three daughters, Elizabeth Suptic of Olathe, Rebecca Gilliland and husband Milton of Topeka, KS, and Deborah Thatcher and husband Randall of Lake Tapawingo, MO; one sister, Bettie Kimball of St. Petersburg, FL; two grandchildren, Susan Van Wagoner and husband Andrew of Overland Park, KS and James Suptic and wife Corby of Kansas City, MO; as well as one great granddaughter, Amelia Elizabeth Suptic. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, at Christ United Methodist Church, Independence, MO. The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
