Lawrence George Edmondson, 91, of Independence, Missouri passed away April 13, 2017. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence, Missouri. Lawrence was born on February 6, 1926 in Independence, Missouri to Samuel Russell and Goldie Mae (Campbell) Edmondson. Lawrence was an Army Veteran and a member of the VFW. He was also a member of the Sheet Metal Workers’ Local #2 since 1947, and retired from Barnes and Dodge in 1987. After retirement Lawrence loved traveling with family and friends, especially as a winter Texan for several years. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen L. Edmondson (Pine), wife Lanora V. Edmondson (Moon), son Dr. L. Vincent Edmondson, son-in-law George H. Crawford, great grandson Christopher Farnsworth, brothers, Clarence O. Riddle and Earl V. Edmondson and sisters Alma Hicks and Hazel E. Smith. Survivors include daughter Judith A. Craig and her husband Calvin, daughter Nancy J. Crawford, daughter-in-law Kelly Edmondson, grandchildren: Karen Howell and her husband Billie, Brian Craig, Daniel Crawford and his wife Amanda, and Kimberly Crawford, great grandchildren: James Craig,
Truman Farnsworth, Aaron Crawford, Mercedes Crawford, and Cameron Crawford; and great great granddaughter Jozelyn Behee-Craig. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to The Salvation Army, PO Box 803319, Kansas City, MO 64180.
