Charles E. “Ed” Edmunds, 83, Independence, died Monday, December 14, 2020, at The Groves in Independence.
Mr. Edmunds was born December 13, 1937, in Independence, MO, where he lived his entire life. He worked in claims and supervision for the Social Security Administration over 25 years, and for Speaks Memorial Chapels for almost 20 years. A lifelong member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he served as an Elder, Sunday School teacher, choir director, and assistant pastor. He was devoted to and loved by his wife and son.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Edmunds; his parents, Daniel and Agnes Edmunds, and his brother, Thomas D. Edmunds. Survivors include his son, Brent E. Edmunds, of Independence; sister-in-law Judith Edmunds, of Warrensburg, MO; nephew Thomas “Rock” Edmunds and wife Rhonda of Warrensburg; and niece Erin Boatright and husband Les of Independence.
Family graveside services are private, and are under the arrangement of Carson-Speaks Chapel.
