Daniel E. "Dan� Edwards, 63, of Independence, MO, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Kansas City. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2006 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Cremation to follow with interment in Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Dan was born October 26, 1943 in Kansas City, MO to Tom and Pat (McGinty) Edwards. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Edwards enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing in his spare time. He never turned down the opportunity to go gambling at the boats or the chance to play cards. Dan was the life of the party and was known for his barbequing talents. He is survived by his wife Frances (Clark) Edwards of the home; children Daniel E. Edwards, Jr. and wife Christie, Marci Alexander and husband David, Juanda "Wendi� Maxwell and husband Jim, Becki Saunders and husband Rodney, Ivan Edwards; grandchildren Brittani, Chelsi, Amanda, Sami, James, Ryan, Ivan, Terrell, Christian, Traci and Lloyd; brother Verl Edwards. Dan was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tommy Edwards.
