Harry C. Edwards, 89, Independence, MO passed away Dec. 30, 2014. Services will be 11 am, Tuesday, Jan. 6 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Rd, Independence, MO 64055; entombment at Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Visitation will begin at 10 am before the service at the church. Harry was born Jan. 3, 1925 in Augusta, KS. He graduated from Prairie Home (MO) High School. He began his working career as a mechanic at Missouri Pacific Truck Lines, then worked as a heating-refrigeration repairman at the Schlitz Brewery, Research Medical Center, Menorah Medical Center and then as a driver for Enterprise Leasing. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union. He enjoyed driving so much that it was his hobby along with taking care of his family. He and his wife were inseparable and worked together at Enterprise. Harry was preceded in death by his parents James Maxwell Edwards, Sr. & Florence (Hickam) Edwards and brothers James Maxwell Edwards, Jr., Joseph Hugh Edwards and Shelby Donald Edwards. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years Pauline Edwards; son Ron Edwards; daughter Debbie Hoaglin and husband Russell; grandsons Russ & C.J. Hoaglin and sister Laura Fullrich.
