Linda Edwards, 62, of Independence, MO, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8th 2014 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 9th at Fort Osage Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens, Independence, MO.
Linda was born August 7, 1951 in Kansas City, MO as one of four daughters to James and Ruby (Fisher) Mabbott. She married early and was gifted two beautiful daughters of her own. She enjoyed collecting snowmen, decorating for Christmas, crocheting, scrapbooking, origami, and numerous other crafts. She was especially proud of her grandsons. Above all she was a passionate witness of Christ. As a member of the church since its inception, she was a faithful and Evangelical Christian who loved her Lord and testified of His great works. Her family remembers her as social, cheerfully optimistic, the life of the party, and always seeing and sharing the miracles in her life. Linda is loved and will be missed.
She is survived by best friend and husband of 18 years, Jim Edwards; daughter, Melinda Deason and husband Vince of Independence, MO; sister Marge Jones and husband Leonard of Blue Springs, MO; sisters, Sharon Chapman and husband Larry of Liberty, MO; sister, Pam Bryant and husband Tim of Blue Springs, MO; grandsons, Nehemiah and Malachi Deason, who she cherished; and numerous nieces nephews, cousins, and church friends who will miss her dearly.
