Mary Edwards

Mary Elizabeth Edwards, 87 of Kansas City and Independence passed away July 30, 2007 at Hidden Lake Care Center in Raytown. Visitation will be 6:00 �" 7:30 pm, Fri. Aug 3, 2007 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Indep. MO with a Memorial Service beginning at 7:30 pm. Graveside inurnment will be 10:00 am Sat. Aug 4, 2007 at Memorial Park Sunset Gardens, Kansas City, KS. Mary was born on Nov. 10, 1919 to Harry and Mae (Arnold) Gunier in Stockton, MO. She had worked for 25 years at Sears Roebuck, retiring in 1983. She befriended and cared for many pets including her cats Melinda and Elvis and canine friends Nicky, Jake, Katy, Ivy, Benjie, Casey and Emmie. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed growing roses and other flowers and took great delight in her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1937 and married her beloved Claude Perrin Edwards in 1941. He passed away in 1970. She was preceded in death by her sister Ople Wyant and brother Arnold Gunier. Mary leaves to mourn her passing, three daughters, Mary Kathleen Edwards of Madison, TN; Claudia Edwards LaRoe and husband Ross of Granville, OH and Phyllis Lynn Mahan of Lee’s Summit, MO. She also leaves her cherished granddaughters, Natalie Siegman an husband Chris of Raytown, Jenalee Elizabeth Mahan of Blue Springs, MO. Also grandchildren Jessica Lynn Mahan, of Lee’s Summit, Justin Edward Mahan of Lee’s Summit and Melanie Rae Newman and husband Craig of Cassville, MO. Seven great grandchildren, Benjamin and Emmilee Boyle, Katelynn, Chase and Kyle Frazier, Jacob Newman and Lauren Blaker and by a special nephew, Stephen Dennis Edwards and wife Donna of Kansas City, MO. Mary maintained a wonderful independent and loving spirit until the very end. She will be missed by so many.
