Robert William "Bob" Elgin

Robert (Bob) William Elgin, 84 returned to heaven on March 4, 2017. He entered this world on August 26, 1932 in Independence, MO, born to Charles and Zona Elgin. He is survived by his wife Margaret (Peggy) Elgin, son Robert (Bill) W Elgin, Jr. (Terri), daughter Karen Kawallek (David), grandsons Jonathon Arnold (Lisa) and Joshua Elgin. He leaves great granddaughters Matilda and Hazel Arnold, sister, Carolyn Potter, brother, David Elgin, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Elgin. Bob spent most of his career in the Insurance and Reinsurance industries and was also a college professor for decades. Bob was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00a.m., Thursday, March 9th with a service following at 10:00a.m, both at First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit, 2 NE Douglas St, Lee's Summit, MO 64063. Burial with full military honors will follow at Mount Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob's name to The First Baptist Church of Lee's Summit, Missouri or Crossroads Hospice.
