DAVID EUGENE ELLEDGE
David Eugene Elledge, 71 of Independence, MO passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 at Liberty Hospital. A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 28, 2020 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. David was born June 14, 1949 in Kansas City, MO to Thomas and Dorothy (Kane) Elledge and has been a lifelong area resident. He attended and graduated from Penn Valley Community College. He had worked as lab technician for several years before he retired. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time with family. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam.
He is survived by; his wife of 42 years, Merna Elledge of the home; 2 stepsons, Greg Sartain of Independence, MO and Chris Sartain of Lee’s Summit, MO; 2 step-daughters, Sheryl Sartain and Sheila Snyder and her husband Randy all of Independence, MO and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, a granddaughter. He was also preceded by a good friend and adopted father, George Queener.
