Robert L. Ellingsworth, Sr., 76, Independence, MO departed April 4, 2006 at Independence Regional Hospital. Memorial Service will be on April 30th at 2:00pm at Mt. Washington Methodist Church. 548 S. Arlington. Donations accepted at Mt. Washington Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs, Boy Scouts and Shriners. He was born Oct. 29, 1929 in Kansas City. Survivors include his wife Frances, sons Robert Jr. and David and his wife wife Lesa, grandchildren Heath, Chris, and his wife Jessica, Eva, Ryan, Eric, Kady, and her husband Jerry and Kayla. Great grandchildren Camren, Asia, Elyse, plus numerous other family members and friends. He retired after 43 years with the Union Pacific Railroad. He had been Superintendent of Sunday school, Secretary/treasurer of his clerk union, secretary treasurer of Railroad bowling league and board member of Crossroads credit union. He and his wife were youth directors of their church. He was a scout leader and shriner - provost member. He was a very giving person. He had given 80 pints of blood and had given bone marrow to two people who survived. In his death he donated his organs, skin and bones, which will help up to 60 people.
