Claude Rowe Elliott, Sr., 77, Buckner, MO. passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014.
Claude was born June 30, 1937 in Enid, OK the son of Franklin Ellwood and Edna Mae (Rowe) Elliott, Sr. Claude served as Chief of Police for Grain Valley and Buckner. He retired from Colonial Nursery. Claude was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, the Fraternal Order of Police and was a founding member of the Jackson County Drug Squad. Claude enjoyed bird watching and was loved by all who knew him and called him Papa.
Survivors include his loving wife, Dorothy Elliott; daughters, Marty Ann Jones, Marie Spooner and husband Chuck; sons, C.R. Elliott, Jr., Troy Elliott and companion Tammy, and Barry Elliott and companion Kathy; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Dianna Ash and Judy Force; brothers, Dr. Eddie Mayes Elliott, Robert Elliott, and Dr. Dan Elliott. He was preceded in death by his brother, Franklin Elliott, Jr., and his parents.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Good Shepherd Christian Church; 111 SW Woods Chapel Road, Blue Springs, MO 64015. Inurnment will be at a later date.
