Dorothy Louise Elliott (Hendershot)

Dorothy Louise Elliott, 79, of Buckner, MO, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019. Cremation is planned, and inurnment will take place this coming summer. Dorothy was born December 25, 1939 in Independence, MO to Leo and Alene (Hunter) Hendershot. Dorothy attended high school in Grain Valley, MO before joining the workforce. In 1956, Dorothy married Claude R Elliott and the two had five children together. She was self-employed as a pet groomer for over 33 years. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting, activities that she happily taught each of her grandchildren. She also loved gardening and tending to her plants, especially her orchids, and doing crafts. Dorothy especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her children, C.R. Elliott Jr (Eilleen), Marvle Ann Jones (Billy White), Troy Elliott (Tammy Lorance), E. Marie Spooner (Charles), and Barry Elliott; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Edward Norman; and sister, Norma Bruce. She is preceded in death by both parents and husband, Claude.
