Julia “Marilyn” Elliott, 90 of Independence, MO passed away, Friday, March 25, 2016 at Wilshire at Lakewood. Marilyn willed her body to the University of Kansas Medical Center for research. A memorial service
will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the Pebble Creek Assembly of God church (address was added). Marilyn was born May 8, 1925 in Unionville, MO the fourth child and first daughter of Floyd and Myrtle Clarinda (Steele) Hill and moved to the Kansas City area in 1945. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and sewing. She was a member of the Pebble Creek Assembly of God church where she served as deaconess and president of the CWF women’s auxiliary. She also served as president of the Bancroft Elementary, PTA and past president City Union Mission women’s auxiliary. She was married to Irvin Frank Elliott for 49 years before he preceded her in death in 1998. Survivors include; a daughter, Marjorie Sue Bass and husband David of Blue Springs, MO; a son, David Elliott of San Francisco, CA; 2 sisters, Lois Cooke of Lee’s Summit, MO and Sara Lou Levardsen of Houston, TX; a brother, Richard Hill of Unionville, MO; 2 grandsons: Shannon "David" Bass and Ryan (Kristi) Bass; and 7 great grandchildren: Zachary, Hunter, Peyton, Aubrey, Tanner, Dakota and Tristan.
