Nelson W. Elliott, 84, of Independence, MO, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2006 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, MO. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Cremation. Interment in Hale Cemetery in Hale, MO on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Farview Restoration Branch, 24th & Vermont, Independence, MO 64052. Nelson was born October 1, 1922 in Waverly, MO to Roy and Nora (Harms) Elliott. Mr. Elliott proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from Transcon Truck Line in 1985 after 30 years of service. Nelson was a dedicated husband and father to his family. He enjoyed volunteering for the Jackson County Election Board and also worked delivering telephone books. Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret (Dennis) Elliott; son Gary Elliott and wife Janet, daughter Michelle Elliott; granddaughter Gina Elliott; great-grandchildren Madison and Donnie Funk; brothers Dennis and Tim Elliott; sisters Betty Ann Shirley, Ruby Farley
