Sharon Ann “Sami” Elliott, 77, of Independence, MO, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023. A celebration of life visitation will take place on Saturday, February 18th from 1-3pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington Ave.; Independence, MO 64052.
Sami was born on January 22, 1946, in Tulsa, OK to Vernie and Goldie (Rist) Perryman. She was a born saleswoman, using her gift as a successful insurance agent for State Farm for almost 30 years. During that time, she earned multiple Sales Leader awards. On March 16, 1976, Sami married Terryl “Terry” Elliott and together they made Independence their home. Sami was hard-working and determined. She went back to school to earn her GED in her late 40’s and graduated top of her class. She was also competitive, especially when it came to winning at the casino. When Sami wasn’t cheering on her Kansas City Royals or Chiefs, she could be found taking long weekend drives with Terry. Most of all, Sami loved spending time with her family, friends, and fur babies. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Sami is survived by her son, Vern Mulkey; grandchildren, Miles, Jessica, Stephanie, Luke, and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Jami; brother-in-law, Blake Elliott; as well as lifelong friends/cousins, Danny and Sue Steen.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Terry in 2019; her siblings, Ida May Bush, Herman Perryman, Tom Perryman, Virgil Perryman, Goldina Collins and Harold Perryman; and her 4-legged children, Winnie and Penny.
