Lenora Ellis

December 19, 1915 — August 20, 2007

LeNora Edna Ellis, 91, of Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, August 20, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2007 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1 p.m., until service time Thursday at the chapel. LeNora was born December 19, 1915 in Kansas City, MO to David Albert and Elizabeth (Melta) Wilson and has been a lifelong area resident. She had worked as a Admitting Supervisor for Trinity Lutheran Hospital from 1960 to 1977. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and shopping. She was a member of the Eastgate Christian Church. She was also a member of the O.E.S., Mt. Washington Chapter where she was a former Worthy Matron in 1990, White Shrine of Jerusalem and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary of Post 1000 in Independence, MO. She was married to Urselle M. “Buck” Payne, he passed away in 1960, she later married Samuel F. Ellis, Sr. in 1977, he died in 2001. Survivors include; a daughter, Nina Trimble and her husband Larry of Independence, MO; 2 grandchildren, Laurale Bischoff and her husband Mike of Columbia, MO and Rick Trimble and his wife Hiromi of Japan; 3 great grandchildren, and a nephew, Raymond Redmond and his wife Barbara of Blue Springs, MO.
