Catherine Louise "Kitty" Ellston (Gravitt)

Catherine “Kitty” Louise (Gravitt) Ellston was born on April 13,1929 to Elmer and Lena Pearl (Phoenix) Gravitt in Moline, IL. On June 15, 2014 “Kitty” passed away at Manor Care, Springfield, MO. at the age of 85. She married Charles Edward Ellston on Jan. 24, 1948. She lived most of her life in Des Moines, IA until moving to Independence, MO in 1988 and Springfield, MO in 2005. She was a member of Community of Christ Church Pleasant Heights Congregation, Indep., MO (1988-2000). She is survived by a daughter, Michelle Hamric and husband, Randal, Springfield, MO; a brother Richard Gravitt and wife, Marie, Avon Park, FL.; an aunt, Marge (Phoenix) Morrissey and husband, Tom, Des Moines, IA; grandsons Aaron Hamric, Ethan Hamric, both of Springfield, MO and Noah Gustafson and wife, Courtney, Lee’s Summit, MO; granddaughter Noelle (Gustafson) Neal and husband Daniel, Springfield, MO; great-granddaughters and great- grandsons. Her parents, husband Charles, daughter Valerie (Ellston) Gustafson and brother Elmer Gravitt preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 10 am, Sat., June 21, 2014 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Indep., MO 64055; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery, Indep., MO. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday, June 20 at the chapel.
