Virginia Lee Elsea (Hale)

Virginia L. Elsea, 90, Lee’s Summit, MO, formerly of Independence, passed away Nov. 22, 2014. Services will be 2 pm, Sat., Nov. 29 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 pm before the service at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. Heart of America Chapter, 3846 W 75th St, Prairie Village, KS 66208. Virginia was born June 18, 1924 in Viola, MO and graduated from Cassville High School. She worked at Sears for twenty-five years before retiring in 1987. During WWII she worked at the Fairfax plant building B-25 bombers. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and volunteered at Hope House. Virginia is survived by sons Larry Collens and wife Lola, Kingsville, MO; Dennis Collens and wife Barb, Lee’s Summit, MO; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
