Elvira Yzquierdo, a beloved soul, peacefully departed this world on Friday, October 4, 2024, in Independence, Missouri, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and love. She was born on November 28, 1946, in Eagle Pass, Texas. Elvira graduated from Eagle Pass High School and went on to build a remarkable career at Commerce Bank, dedicating over 42 years of her life to serving others through her work.
Elvira was known for her quiet demeanor, but those who knew her well understood the depth of her warm and loving spirit. She had an innate ability to brighten the lives of those around her, and her gentle nature left an everlasting impact on family and friends alike. Her passion for gardening brought her immense joy, and she cherished nurturing plants, often exchanging them as gifts with loved ones—a testament to her generous heart.
She is survived by her siblings, Maria Carter-Malina (Dr. John Malina) of Taylor, Pa, Reymundo Yzquierdo of Independence, Mo, Isidro Yzquierdo Jr (Joyce) of North Port Florida, Oralia Short (Tommy) of Independence, Mo; Niece, Kellie Wzorek ( Joey); and great niece, Chloe' of Colorado Springs, Colorado and nephew, Matthew Short of Blue Springs, Mo; and a host of extended family and friends who held a special place in her heart. Each person who entered her life experienced the beauty of her kindness, and they will forever treasure the memories shared with her.
Elvira has been reunited with her parents and grandparents, who surely welcomed her with open arms. Her legacy will continue to thrive in the stories shared and the love she imparted to all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we remember Elvira Yzquierdo, let us celebrate her life of compassion and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. The family would also like to give thanks to One Community Hospice & Palliative Care for their exceptional care of Elvira, Senior Helpers and her three Special Caregivers on the weekends
Services will take place at Carson Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. A Rosary will begin at 5:30, Friday, November 1, 2024, with a Visitation to follow between the hours of 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Memorial Services will take place Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 10am also at Carson Speaks Chapel. Elvira will be inurned following Memorial Service on Saturday, at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens located in Independence, Missouri.
