Rolland E. “Buck” Emmert, of Blue Springs, MO, a man who lived life to the fullest, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2021. He was 93 years old. Buck was born on March 17, 1927, son of Rolla and Marie (Ansoms) Emmert. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Navy and was stationed on the South Dakota Battleship during WWII. In 1957, he and his wife Dorothy started Emmert Welding & Mfg Co., from which they retired in 1991. Buck had a multitude of interests over the years: Semi-pro baseball pitcher, hunting, race cars, boat racing, shooting competitions, and singing and playing harmonica in various bands and at Vespar Hall. The family would like to give a special thank you to Kansas City Hospice care for taking exceptional care of Buck.
He leaves behind his very special friend, Dorothy Minnick; daughter Theresa (Terry) and husband Robert (Bob) Looney; son, Steve Emmert and wife Mary; son, Mark Emmert and wife Chris and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Dieterman) Emmert; parents, Rolla and Marie Emmert and brother, Charles (Chuck) Emmert.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private graveside service will be held for the family. Buck will be laid to rest at Mount Washington Cemetery in Independence, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to be made to a charity of the donor’s choice, or to Kansas City Hospice.
