She was sister, teacher, artist, rosary-maker and evangelizer. The Blessed Mother was her constant companion in her retirement as she made rosaries and prayed for those for whom God had intended them. Although dementia gradually took its toll over the last 20 years she remained a joyful Bride of Christ welcoming visitors and sharing stories with them, particularly about her 40 years in the classroom, and always ready to talk about Jesus, the love of her life. On September 8, the Birthday of Mary the Mother of Jesus to whom she had such great devotion, she left this world to be with Him forever. She is survived by her sisters, Angeline Stout and Evelyn Light, numerous nieces and nephews, hundreds of former students and her sisters in community. All services will be at the Sisters of St. Francis. Visitation from 6:30-8:30 pm and Rosary will be at 7 pm, Wednesday, September 11 and the funeral at 10 am, September 12. Committal services will be at 2 pm, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Nevada, MO. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Sisters of St. Francis, 2100 N. Noland Rd, Independence, MO 64050.
