Mary Ann Engler (Calcara)

Mary Ann Engler, 81, of Independence, MO, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016. Mary Ann was born December 5, 1934 in Kansas City, MO to Michael and Corrienne Calcara. She married the love of her life, Bob Engler, in 1956. She worked for 33 years as a Unit Secretary at Menorah Medical Center. In her free time she enjoyed playing Bunko, going to the casinos and traveling with family. Mary Ann loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered by her 5 sons Terry (CJ), David (Tammy), Michael (Amy), Paul and Chris (Misty); 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Bob; 2 brothers Gene and Michael Calcara; grandson Scott Engler. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A rosary will take place that evening at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church 3736 S. Lees Summit Rd, Independence, MO, 64055. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. James Kitchen.
