Shirley Ann Eoff

November 8, 1935 — October 13, 2021

Shirley Ann Eoff, 85, of Independence, MO and most recently of Wellsville, KS, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Shirley was born November 8, 1935 in Kansas City, MO to Charles and Elsie (Crum) Eoff.

At the age of 10, the family moved to California, where she later graduated from Oakland High School. Shirley went on to attend San Francisco University, earning a B.A. in Education with emphasis on drama and public speaking. Shirley enjoyed a varied career, with an overarching theme of empowering people, whether that was providing entertainment as an actor in a traveling theater troupe for children, teaching drama at a Miami, FL, high school, working at the Camp Fire and Girl Scout Council’s corporate offices, lending her skills to Landmark Education Corp., working in Human Resources at Brunson Instrument Company, or at Silent Unity, which prays with and for people throughout the world.

Shirley was an unconventional soul who lived a thoughtful, kind, and passionate life. It was accurately said of Shirley that “she leaves a little sparkle behind wherever she goes”. She believed that we should all follow our dreams, inspiring individuality and creativity in everyone around her. Shirley was friendly, vibrant, and fun. She always appeared to be guided by a north star of assisting others to reach their full potential, and enjoyed a lifetime of work, and volunteering, aligned with that star.

Shirley touched the lives of hundreds of people through the years, who will miss her smile, her support, and her counsel. She is survived by a niece, Susan Eoff, as well as by two nephews, David Eoff and Randy Eoff. Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Unity Church of Independence or Girl Scouts of America.

A memorial “open house” as a celebration of Shirley’s life will be held next Spring. If you wish to be apprised when this is scheduled, please e-mail appropriate contact information to: RememberShirleyE@gmail.com.
