Wilfredo Erazo, 66, of Independence, MO, passed away far too soon on Wednesday, April 13th, 2022. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm Friday, April 15th at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W Lexington Ave.; Independence, MO 64052. Funeral service will be at 10am on Saturday, April 16th at The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; 705 W Walnut St.; Independence, MO 64050.
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Wilfredo was born on April 16, 1955, in El Progreso Yoro, Honduras to Emilio and Consuelo (Paz) Erazo. He graduated from high school and went on to graduate with his degree in Accounting from Triunfo de la Cruz in Honduras. In 1979, he married the love of his life, Mercedes Vargas, in New York City.
While in New York, he worked in shipping and receiving and continued that work locally with Lanter Delivery Systems in Kansas. He and Mercedes became a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1995, and served faithfully with their local congregations. Wilfredo was proud to become a US Citizen on May 20th, 2005.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mercedes Erazo; daughter-in-law, Antoinette Rivera; four sons, Israel (LaShon Hale), Gerardo (Jennifer), Wilfredo Erazo Jr. (Melissa Hoppe); and Ariel (Ricky Ann) Vargas; eight siblings, Emilio, Antonio, Roberto, Jaime, Elvia, Maritzo, Martha, and Rosibel Erazo; grandchildren, Kassandra, Brianna, Mariah, Gerardo Jr., Gabriel, Darius, Isaiah, Dominic, Adrian, and Giselle Erazo; Lola, Santiago, and Laney Vargas; and Izhané Crockett.
