ErmaLee Sanders

Lee Sanders, 84 of Independence Missouri passed away Saturday, December 7th,2024 at her home. Lee was born May 23rd, 1940. She was a graduate of Bishop Hogan High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Lee married Carl O. Sanders in 1964 and from this marriage they had two children: Carla and Craig. Lee was employed by Southwestern Bell until the early seventies.

Lee’s smile and laugh could light up any room. She was one the most loving, caring, and kindest people you could ever meet. She treasured every moment she spent with her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren. Each child and grandchild have fond memories of dancing with her around the living room while she sang to them in Italian.

Her favorite moments were relaxing at their family lake house in the Ozarks. This was her and Carl’s happy place. She loved her fun in the sun days and her evening boat rides.

Lee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years (Carl), her daughter (Carla), her brother (Al Fantin) and her good friend Linda Hahn.

Lee is survived by her son Craig Sanders, granddaughters Courtney Schmidt (Matt), Lanie West (Jake), grandson Hunter Sanders, great granddaughters Nulla Schmidt and Piper Coffman, and her lifelong best friend Pat (Jack) Mahan.
