Leona Belle Essex

Leona B. Essex, 76, of Independence, passed away, Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 24, 2004 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills East Cemetery. The family will greet from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the chapel. Leona was born August 5, 1927 in Noble, MO to George W. and Ruby (Fletcher) McDaniel. Leona was a loving mother and wife. She was the Bookkeeper for Arlo G. Essex, Inc. She was a member of the 39th Street Church of Christ since being baptized into Christ in 1971. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Arlo G. Essex of the home; a daughter, Linda Essex of Independence; a son, John M. Essex and his wife Glenys of Independence, MO; a sister, Mary Sybil Nowlin of Raytown, MO; a brother, Irvin E. McDaniel of Port Arthur, TX; a granddaughter, Sara J. Essex of Independence, MO and several nieces and nephews.
