Larry Byron Esterle passed peacefully at home on April 4th, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones.
Larry was born on February 8, 1957 and grew up in Wadsworth, OH where he played varsity football, baseball, and basketball and was a teacher’s aide at Wadsworth High School. Shortly after graduating, Larry moved to Colorado, before eventually settling in Kansas City, MO.
Larry enjoyed hunting, listening to music, being with family, and spending time at the cabin he built near the Lake of the Ozarks. Larry was a legend in the ceiling industry and worked for Meade & Sons and K.D. Christian Construction Co. for over 40 years.
Larry is survived by wife, Carmen Murphy and sister-in-law, Kathaline Roberts; a son, Mason Murphy and his wife Damaris Murphy of North Kansas City, MO; a daughter, Leah Marrs and her husband Ryan Marrs of Independence, MO; seven grandkids, Carmen Branch and Philip Branch who lived with him, and Beverly, Katherin, Dylan, Larry, and Mason; his mother, Carol Stone of Richland, MI; a sister, Tracy Thompson and her husband Jim Thompson of Richland, MI; and a niece, Emma Thompson of Richland, MI.
Visitation will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel (18020 East 39th St S, Independence, MO 64055) on Saturday, April 16th from 12:30pm-3:30pm with a memorial service immediately following. All are welcome to attend.
Larry lived a warm and meaningful life, filled with love and laughter. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all.
