Edna Esther Williams, a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. She was 86. Edna was born to William and Sophia Alms on November 21, 1934 in Campbell Hill, Illinois.
Edna was a hard worker and had a passion for life. After graduating from Trico High School she continued her education at Marywood University. Throughout the years Edna held many job positions. She spent the majority of her career as an Account Allocation Manager for the Government before retiring. Edna loved to travel. She would seize every opportunity to learn about the history of the destinations she’d visit. She was particularly interested in lighthouses. Edna was a collector and during her travels she’d gather rocks for her geology studies. Edna enjoyed online shopping, had incredible organization skills and absolutely loved dogs. Her kind spirit will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Rose King; grandsons, Christopher (Nancy) King, Jeffrey (Marisa) King and Stephen (Karly) King; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Eleanor, Adelyn, Audrey and John Henry Thomas King; and beloved niece, Barbara Altes.
She was preceded in death by her nephew, Michael Kilburn and husband, William Williams.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 27th at 10am at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri.
