Esther Darlene Anderson

April 20, 1942 — December 20, 2023

Independence, MO

Esther Darlene Anderson, beloved wife, mother, and devoted member her community, passed away on December 20, 2023. She was born on April 20, 1942, in Hannibal, Missouri to parents Clarence and Dora Mae (Lowe) Passmore.

Esther graduated from Hannibal High School and went on to become an Operator for Southwestern Bell. After working for approximately five years, she chose to dedicate her time and energy to being a homemaker in order to raise her two children. Esther's commitment and love for her family were unwavering.

In addition to her role as a dedicated wife and mother, Esther had a wide range of interests that brought her joy throughout her life. She found solace in quilting and spent many hours creating beautiful works of art. Esther was also an active member of various church prayer and Bible study groups, where she found immense comfort and inspiration. Above all else, spending time with her two cherished grandchildren brought Esther the greatest happiness.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Clark G. Anderson after being married for 47 years until his passing in 2014. Also preceding her in death were brothers Clarence Passmore Jr., Russell Passmore, Charles Passmore, and sister, Virginia Simpkin.

Esther is survived by her loving sons, Curtiss (Dana) Anderson of Independence, Missouri; and Matthew (Teresa) Anderson of Liberty, Missouri. Her memory will forever be cherished by her two adoring grandchildren, Scott Anderson, and Heather Anderson; she also leaves behind a brother, Larry Passmore.

Amidst the sorrow of Esther's passing, we find solace in the knowledge that she is now reunited with her husband and loved ones who have gone before her. Her legacy of love, dedication, and gentle spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all those she touched.

On Friday, December 29, 2023, we will gather at the First Baptist Church of Independence to remember Esther's incredible life and bid our final farewell. The Funeral Service will commence at 11:00 AM. Following the service, we will proceed to Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence for internment.
