On Friday, May 1, 2020, YooJa Etter peacefully passed from her life on earth to her eternal life with our Lord. YooJa was born on June 2, 1935 to Chong Eum Lee and Ssi (Kang) Lee in Wonsan, Korea. She met and married L. Wayne Ross in 1959 in Seoul Korea. She traveled with Wayne, who served in the US Army, to many posts to include San Pedro California where their son James L. Ross was born. And Wurzburg, Germany where their daughter Lee Ann (Ross) Wheelbarger was born. The marriage ended in divorce in 1969. Yooja met and married Neldon Etter in 1972 in Independence, MO. She remained in Independence until Neldon's death in 1996, at which time she relocated to Houston, Texas. YooJa became a skilled seamstress and worked in the KC Garment district becoming a member of ILGWU women's union. One of her proudest moments was becoming an American citizen in 1984. YooJa is survived by her loving daughter Lee Ann (Ross) Wheelbarger; grandchildren Ralph and Rebecca (Gough)Wheelbarger and Leslie (Hull) and Bryan Denhart; daughter-in-law Christine (Daniels) Ross; grandchildren Matthew Ross, Stephanie (Ross) and Shea Grimes; and 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chong Eum Lee and Ssi (Kang) Lee; husband, Neldon Etter; and son James Lee Ross.
