FREDERICK C. ETZENHOUSER
Frederick C. Etzenhouser, 91, Independence, MO passed away, Saturday, August 17th 2013 at Wilshire at Lakewood. A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22nd at Southview Baptist Church; 8015 Sterling, Raytown, MO 64138. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
Fred and twin sister, Freda, were born February 5, 1922 to Harold and Louise Etzenhouser in Independence where he was raised. He was a graduate of Central High School in Kansas City, MO. Fred served in the Navy during World War II on an aircraft carrier, the Kasaan Bay, stationed in the Pacific. Upon returning home, he worked as a tool and dye maker and retired from Wilcox Electric Company in 1994. Fred was a member of Southview Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon for many years. His church friends sustained him to the end of his life.
Fred is survived by three children; son, Frank Etzenhouser; daughters, Chari King and Joyce McCollum; seven grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary, of 55 years on December 11 2005 and daughter, Jimmie Brown. The family encourages contributions to the church in his memory.
