Vera Evans

Vera Marie Evans, née Talburt, formerly of Independence, died peacefully on May 28, 2017 at Country Oaks Village in Grain Valley.

Vera was born the youngest of nine children in Cumi, Arkansas on June 12, 1927. She was married to Jack Arthur Evans for 62 years. They had two sons, Phillip Arthur and Jerry Wayne, and one daughter, Patsy Marie Brooks. Vera was a long-time member of Country Meadows Baptist Church. She was an avid quilter and worked as a florist for many years.

She is survived by her three children, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, from 9-10am, with funeral service at 10am, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. in Independence. Burial will take place in Floral Hills East Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her honor.
