Anita Kay Fairchild, 71 of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
Anita was born January 6, 1942 in Independence, MO to Boyd L. and Blanche L. (Amundsen) Davis and has been a lifelong area resident. She retired from Lake City Ammunition Plant. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, painting and most of all spending time with her family. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
She is survived by; 2 sons, Daniel Childress and Chad Childress and his wife Allison all of Independence, MO; a daughter, Metta Wickham of Independence, MO; a sister, Jackie Fauss of Independence, MO and 4 grandchildren, Spencer Childress, Dexter Wickham, Bailey Childress and Emma Childress.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fairchild in 2011; 2 sons, Steven Childress and Dale Fairchild and 4 siblings, Ramona Stewart, Richard Davis and infant siblings Dale Davis, Metta Charlene Davis.
