Sam Farnsworth, 67, of Raytown, MO passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018. A visitation will be held 6-8pm on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A service will be 10am on Tuesday, March 20th at the Chapel. Interment will take place at Farnsworth Family Cemetery in Holden, MO.
Sam was born on June 14, 1950 in Independence, MO to Fern and Gladys (Dutton) Farnsworth. He grew up driving tractors on relatives’ farms and flying small planes with friends. His love of home and country led him to serve in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Hard work and kindness were two of his best qualities. A beloved father and husband, Sam touched the lives of all who knew him. There is no better evidence of his devotion and love, than his family.
Sam will be remembered by his wife of 48 years, Pat Farnsworth of Raytown, MO; children Sarah Strode and husband Gordon of Independence, MO, Julie Miller of Blue Springs, MO, Jeromie Farnsworth and wife Jill of Independence, MO; Kristin Farnsworth of Raytown, MO; siblings Margie Kruel and husband Terry, Debbie Farnsworth, Beverly Nipper and husband Dale, Jerry Farnsworth and wife Karla, Pam Schemechel and husband Ken; grandchildren Kylie Miller, Hunter Miller, Nolan Mercer, Joseph Farnsworth, Jaidyn Farnsworth, and Elijah Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Farnsworth Family Cemetery.
