Dorothy "Dot� M. Faulkner, 84, died Tuesday February 17, 2004 at her home. Services will be 10 am Friday, February 20th at George C. Carson and Sons Funeral Home; with interment in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 7 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul�s United Methodist Church or Kansas City Hospice. Dorothy was born January 10, 1920 in Kansas City, MO to Arthur M. Stears and Millie C. Gilliland. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Edward L. Faulkner, and one grandson Kurtis L. Comstock. She was a homemaker and retired US Postal Service mail carrier. She was a charter member of the St. Paul�s United Methodist Church. Dorothy worked 19 years as a volunteer at MCI hospital in Independence. She served as secretary for two bowling leagues for 50 and 35 years respectfully, and Lone Jack Housewives League and over 50 league. Dorothy had been a cub Scout Leader a charter member of the GGG Club, a member of the Pythian Sisters, a member of TOPS (Take off Pounds sensibly) having attained the KOPS designation. Dorothy was a member of the "Hee Haws� square dance group for many years, and owned "The Little Blue Square Dance Barn� during that time. She was a member of the Independence Young Matrons having sewn many costumes for the plays. She is survived by one brother, James C. Stears, and four children, Judith L. Comstock, James D. Faulkner, John F. Faulkner, and Cheryl K. Brown; son-in-law, Robert L. Comstock, daughters-in-law, Kathryn J. Faulkner, and Candice L. Faulkner, son-in-law, J. Rory Brown and sisters-in-law, Pauline Stears, and Elsie Faulkner; grandchildren, Wendy L. Comstock, Christopher L. Comstock, Angela L. Comstock, Jamie L. Faulkner, James D. Faulkner, K. Bradley Faulkner, Jason t. Faulkner, Ryan B. Faulkner, Kathryn C. Faulkner; twins, Trevor L. Alexander, and Travis L. Alexander; great grandchildren, Megan A. Faulkner, Amanda L. Comstock, Morgan L. Faulkner, Savannah L. Faulkner, and twins, Luke E. and Login E. Faulkner; five nieces, town nephews, and several grandnieces and nephews.
