Jerry Fellers, 84, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at his home. A visitation will be held from 10-11am on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church 1915 N. Liberty St, Independence, MO, 64050. A service will follow at 11am at the church.
Jerry was born on February 23, 1934 in Jackson County, MO to Floyd and Ruth (Doty) Fellers. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He worked and retired from Armco Steel after 32 years. Jerry enjoyed going fishing and watching and playing sports. He played in a softball league until he was 60 years old and coached softball and baseball. Jerry loved the Lord with all his heart and served as deacon at his church, where he served in many capacities. He also served as a volunteer chaplain for 14 years to senior adults. Most of all, Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren.
His survivors include his wife Wilma of 61 years; daughter Rebecca Martin and husband Jack of Independence, MO; son Bryan Fellers and wife Beth of Paris, TX; daughter Jennifer Hart and husband Jeff of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren Julie Craft (Jim), Matthew Martin, Brooke Hicks (Travis), Bryce Fellers (Morgan), Rachel Hart, Sarah Hart, and Andrew Hart; great-grandchildren Connor Craft, Jovie Hicks, and Clara Hicks; plus many extended family members and wonderful friends.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
