Louis Ronald "Ronnie" Ferril

Ronnie Ferril, 90, of Independence, MO passed away July 3, 2017. He will lie in state from 11:30 am 1:30 pm, Friday, July 7, 2017 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at 2pm Friday at Floral Hills Cemetery. Ronnie was born on August 15, 1926 in Kearney, MO to Edgar and Bess (Munkirs) Ferril. After graduation from Kearney High School, with the permission of his parents, he joined his other 2 brother in the military. Ronnie was a proud Navy Veteran serving in WWII from 1944-1946 on a troop ship in the Pacific and in Japan during the Korean Conflict. On December 27, 1947 he married the love of his life, Helen Virdelle McKinzie. She passed away in September 2003. Ronnie retired from Thomas McGee Insurance Agency after 35 years and a lifetime in the Insurance industry. Ronnie enjoyed golf, fishing, and being involved with his family and many friends including their relatives. Ronnie had been a member of First Baptist Church of Independence and most currently a member of Christ United Methodist Church. “I retired in 1993 and since then have enjoyed my loving family and many dear friends. I have been so blessed for every day that God has given me. I will be looking forward to seeing all of you.” Survivors include; daughter Linda Bukovac and her husband Tim; son Steve Ferril and his wife Coila; grandson Todd Allen and his wife Nicole; great grandsons Clint and Cole; extended family and many friends. Ronnie is preceded in death by his wife, Virdelle, his parents, brothers Howard Ferril and Charles Ferril. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Drumm Farm or Christ United Methodist Church in Ronnie’s memory.
