Charmian Amanda “Charlotte” Ferro, 89 of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 at her residence. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, MO. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Raytown, MO. Visitation was from 10:00 a.m., until service time Friday at the chapel. Charlotte was born September 29, 1923 in Burlingame, KS to Roy and Ethel (Lear) Gifford. She spent her early life in Burlingame before moving to California during the war time and later to Independence, MO, where she met and was later married to Louie Ferro on May 29, 1951. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and always at her husband's side running the family business, Excel Sundries. She was a member of the Nativity of Mary Catholic Church. Survivors include; 2 sons, Louie Ferro of Independence, MO and Frank Ferro and his wife Kim of Lee’s Summit, MO; a daughter, Charmian Stanfield and her husband Marion of Holden, MO; 4 grandchildren, Tony, Katie, Megan and Ryan and a niece Anna Marie Ziemet of Leawood, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Ferro, Sr. in 2007.
