Frances "Elaine" Fetters

Frances “Elaine” Fetters of Independence, Missouri was born September 3, 1945, in Deepwater, Missouri the daughter of Charles and Lena Downing. She departed this life on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Missouri at the age of 77.

On November 6, 1964, Elaine was united in marriage to the love of her life Floyd “David” Fetters in Deepwater, Missouri.

Elaine worked in Life Insurance and ended her career by retiring from Kansas City Life Insurance. Once she retired, she worked part-time for Sears, Cargo Largo and Sunfresh where she made many friends. However, her true joy came from spending time with family.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James “Jim” Downing and the love of her life, Floyd “David” Fetters.

Elaine is survived by daughter, Donna (Fetters) Wiley and husband Russ of Independence, Missouri; son, Jimmy Fetters and wife Karrie of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Russell Todd Wiley (Michelle), Jeremy Dean Wiley (Devin), Trista Marie Piccinini (Danny) and Zachary David Fetters; 5 great-grandchildren, Dejah Renee Wiley, Alexis Michelle Wiley, Peyton Michelle Wiley, Finnegan Floyd Piccinini and Madelyn Mozell Hutton; her best friend and sister in law, Jackie Downing; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A visitation will be held from 6-8pm, Thursday, September 29th with a service 10am on Friday the 30th, both at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave.; Independence, MO 64052.
