Dolores L. Fields

November 18, 1909 — June 6, 2004

Dolores L. Fields, 94, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, June 5, 2004 at her home. Services will be 2 pm Wednesday, June 9th at George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home; with interment in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to The Dolores Fields Memorial, Bethany Lutheran College, Linsborg, KS. Dolores was born November 18, 1909 in Clay Center, KS to Oscar and Elsie Fahlstrom Linquist. She moved to the Independence area in 1929 and worked for Sears, Roebuck, & Co. She married Charles Leroy Fields on June 25, 1933. They owned Fields Color Center, 1318 W. Lexington on the Square in Independence for many years. She was a Charter member of Blue Ridge Trinity Lutheran Church. She was an avid KC Royals fan, and was able to attend the 1985 World Series. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1968, and her sisters, Lavone Holte, Verna Thrush. She is survived by her son, Gary Fields and wife Susan of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Carla Fields French and husband Wendel, Lisa Fields Beebe and husband John, Laura Fields Shaw and husband Mark, Lance Fields and wife Jennifer, and Shannon Fields King and husband Jim; great grandchildren, Parker French, Ally and Abby Beebe, Zack and Caleb Shaw, and Peyton Fields; step great grandsons, Mathew and Michael King.
