Linda Fields, 70, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017. A visitation will be held from 2-4pm on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A memorial service will follow at 4pm at the chapel. A celebration of her life will begin at 5pm at Tiff and Jay’s on Woods Chapel Rd in Lees Summit, MO.
Linda was born on January 18, 1947 in Independence, MO to Wilmert and Doris (Bowen) Rainwater. After high school, she married Leonard Fields on January 30, 1965. Together they raised two sons. They also ran their own successful printing business for 21 years called Quick Press Express. She and Leonard were heavily involved in Pop Warner football where they coached the Gators and sat on the board of Directors for over thirty-four years. Her dedication was acknowledged when she was named Volunteer of the Year for the Midwest Region. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, playing cards, music, boating, fishing and pina coladas. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids and going to the lake.
Linda will be remembered by her husband Leonard Fields of Independence, MO; sons Larry Fields and wife Sherrie of Lees Summit, MO, Jimmy Fields of St. Petersburg, FL; brothers Bill Rainwater, Jr. and Gene Rainwater and wife Ginger; 3 grandchildren Levi, Lukas, and Sophia; in-laws Janet Fields, Fran Fields, John Fields, and Donald Fields; plus many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
