Emmett “Bud” Fimple (94) passed away on September 16, 2022.
Bud was born in Sedalia, Missouri to Frank and Lorena Fimple. He was raised by grandparents, Emmett and Bell Mabry. He graduated from Smith Cotton High School in 1947.
Bud served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean conflict. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. On May 18, 1950 Bud married Geneva Steele. They raised two daughters, Lorri (Larry) Shuey and Sharri Sparks. After serving in the military he worked for AT&T for 33yrs before retiring in 1984. After retirement he enjoyed time with friends and family, riding his many Harley-Davidson motorcycles and wintering in Brownsville, Texas.
Bud is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geneva; parents; grandparents; brother, Harold Fimple; half-sister, Beverly Bottoms; half-brothers, Charles and Billy Wooster and many lost friends and relatives.
He is survived by daughters, Lorri (Larry) Shuey and Sharri Sparks; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and family members.
The family would like to thank Willshire @ Lakewood and Jill with One Community Hospice for the excellent care they gave to Bud.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22 from 9-10am at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Mo. with service immediately to follow. A graveside inurnment will take place later that day at 1:30pm at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia, Missouri.
