Anna Louise (Condit) Finfrock, 89 of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Village Care Hospice House. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Donations may be made in her name to the Salvation Army. Anna was born November 20, 1925 in Kansas City, MO to George W. and Lola M. (Mooes) Condit. She was united in marriage to Harry M. Finfrock, Jr. on June 3, 1949 in Kansas City, MO and was married 47 years until his death on December 15, 1996. She was a graphic artist, a Christian and a member of Unity Village Chapel. She was a 1943 graduate of Northeast High School and a member of the Alumni Association. She received her Bachelors of Arts degree from Kansas City Art Institute in 1947. She was a former member of the Advertising Artists Guild and the Art Directors Club. She won a scholarship from Hallmark Card Company and studied a year at the Nelson Art Gallery. She worked for Burd and Fletcher Packaging Company, many art studios and printing companies before being Art Director of the promotion department at Unity School of Christianity. She retired from there and did free lance work. She did calligraphy 27 years for the Association of Unity Churches. She was active and always working for the veterans. She was a volunteer at the Kansas City VA Medical Center and also volunteered at the veteran’s home in Warrensburg, MO. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary #5789, past president 1957-58, past 5th district president 1960-61, and a 20 year member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #1000 in Independence, MO, former member of the Military of the Cooties Pup #13, past Commander of the DAV Auxiliary, Queen City Chapter #10, American Legion Post #21 and member of the 5th Dist. mortuary team for over 40 years. She was secretary many years for the Independence Patriotic Council and secretary and board member of Shepherd Center of Lee’s Summit, she organized the Past Presidents Club of #5789 and was secretary and past president of VFW 5th Dist. She enjoyed her art, gardening and loved flowers. She leaves behind her caretaker and friend Betty Akers, her good friend Roberta her cousins, Kenny and Kay Gerdts, Kim, Judy and many other cousins and friends.
