E. Scott Finken, 79, Independence, Mo. died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at home. Services will be 10 am, Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 39th Street & Highway 291 in Independence; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Community of Christ South Chrysler Congregation, 3100 S. Chrysler, Indep., Mo. 64052 or Odyssey Hospice, 9229 Ward Pkwy., Ste. 350, K.C., Mo. 64114. Scott was born Feb. 3, 1925, in Valley Center, Michigan to Everett D. Finken and Blanche Muir Finken. Scott graduated from Brown City, Michigan High School. He attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he received a Certificate in Transportation. Scott was Industrial Traffic Manager for the Vendo Company in Kansas City and later in Fresno, Ca. retiring in 1988 after 36 years. Scott married Jean Finkle in 1946. Following Jean�s death in 1973, Scott married Earlena Ebeling Reneau. He was active in Boy Scouts serving as Assistant Scout Master with Troop #278. Scott was a member of the International Rotary Club serving as the President of the Independence West Club in 1971 and 1972. Scott was an active member of the Community of Christ Church serving as a Priest and an Elder. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Blanche Finken and his first wife, Jean Finkle Finken. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Earlena Finken, of the home; daughters Marsha Gabehart and husband Tom; Pamela Lathrop and husband Kelly; Janice Simmons and husband Mark; sons, Robert Finken and wife Barbara; Jeffrey Finken and wife Julie; David Reneau and wife Connie; and Phillip Reneau; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren
