Emili Margaret Fisher, passed away far too soon on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021. She was 27. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, October 28th with a service at 10am on Friday the 29th, both at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery.
Emili became her parent’s Sunshine on April 22, 1994 in Independence, MO, born to Chris and Kelli (Canon) Fisher. She graduated from Ft. Osage High School in 2012, completing a number of college courses during her time there. She excelled in cooking creative and restaurant-quality meals for her friends and family. She was always thinking of others, whether it was preparing their favorite meal or making them laugh with her wit to advocating for the underprivileged or volunteering for Special Olympics. Even after her passing, she was giving life to others as an organ donor. Emili continues to share her Bright and Wonderful Light.
Those that know and love Emili will remember her as a skilled athlete in softball, basketball, volleyball, soccer and any other sport she gave her energy to. She was an ornery prankster who loved the Chiefs, Royals, and Dixie Chicks. Really, Emili loved music of all kinds, from alternative rock, to country, oldies and, of course, totally rad hits from the 80's. She adored her dogs and was overjoyed to spend time with her beautiful nieces. She loved fishing with her brother, Codi, and sharing a drink with her oldest brother, CJ, while seeing what kind of trouble they could get into.
Emili was the life of every party or gathering. Whether she was playing cards, board games or the game she invented "1,2,3 chug”, you knew when she asked with her ”wine lips” for you to play, it was going to be a memorable time. In true Emili fashion, we ask everyone to share a drink with someone you love.
Emili leaves behind her devoted parents, Chris and Kelli Fisher; her brothers with an unbreakable bond, CJ (Mackenzie Pierzynski) Fisher and Codi (“sister” Ariel) Fisher; love of her life, Mikayla Skidmore; nieces, Joni and Maysilee Fisher; aunts, Kerri (Jerome “Jay”) Adams, Kim (Dalton) Lane, Kendra (Brad) Davis-Jackson, Kaysi Danner, and Kelly Frantz; great aunt/ special grandma/“Aunt P”, Paula Laney; many cousins, countless friends, as well as her doghters, Ellen and Charlie. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Margaret Wallace and William “Billy” Canon and paternal grandparents, Patricia Brammer and Kenneth Fisher.
Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Midwest Transplant Network.
